Children and students have traditionally had the opportunity to perform in school bands or for churches. Band instruments are typically considered to be trumpet, trombone, saxophone, clarinet, flute. Song styles vary. Who wouldn’t want to perform in a jazz band! It takes years of practice and performing. At PMA, taking lessons for band instruments will give your student the edge to excel. We teach fundamentals and set goals to be ready for performances.

PMA, like many other schools, has had to evaluate how to keep music lessons going. While we know the most effective way to teach and learn is in person, we also want to ensure our staff’s and students’ safety and peace of mind. Our private studios are spacious enough to allow you the space needed for successful trombone lessons, tuba lessons or even flute lessons and clarinet lessons.  For now, in addition to in person classes, we will offer online band instrument lessons and will be happy to discuss how we are offering the best online band instrument lessons possible. What styles of band instrument lessons do you teach? 

Our instructors teach to insure that your goals are met, be it top performer in the marching band, first seat in the band or to make it into a jazz band. 

How qualified are our band instrument instructors?

Our faculty is well educated in playing most all instruments, have played the trumpet, saxophone, flute and clarinet themselves and have been playing around the Valley for years! They bring their years of experience to your lessons and you’re sure to enhance your rhythm skills. 

Do I need to purchase that trumpet or saxophone or trombone before starting lessons?

This is a situation where the answer is yes.  These instruments are rather personal, especially given these times and we need to respect safe practices.  We can refer you to places to find quality beginner instruments to get you started!

Does PMA offer public performing opportunities for my performer? 

Absolutely! We host monthly open mic nights at Blaze Pizza’s CenPho location, in their semi-private venue. Families come together for a fun night of pizza and entertainment. Performing is open to all, not only PMA students. A portion of proceeds go toward expanding music lessons in the community.
