Helen's approach to vocal education: In teaching, she strives to keep lessons light-hearted and enjoyable, no matter what style the music is and enjoys teaching students of all ages, from very young through adults.
Helen is an Operatic Soprano. Although she was the drum major in high school, she chose to get her degree in Vocal Performance at ASU. She has received instruction from globally renowned artists such as Mark Delevan, Peter Strummer, Gordon Hawkins, and Anne Elgar Kopta. Helen has been seen on stage in Suor Angelica as Suor Clarlario and a 2018 production of Bernstein’s Mass. In addition to her Operatic engagements, Helen can be seen regularly at Mystery Mansion Dinner Theatre. Helen is a Coloratura Soprano who enjoys performing the music of Strauss, Verdi, Donizetti, Mozart, and Massenet. In addition to being a singer, Helen also plays and teaches Tuba (as well as other brass instruments) and Piano. Helen is a Phoenix native and lives with her lovely cat, Mendelssohn. When not working on music, Helen enjoys crocheting, reading, studying foreign languages, and sewing.
