Piano and Band Instruments - Flute

Amanda has been a music educator for over ten years, providing both classroom and private instruction in flute and piano, to students ranging in age from preschool to adult.

She received her Bachelor in Music degree in music theory and composition from The Master's University and continued her education at Butler University where she earned her Masters in Music in composition.

Amanda's background in theory and composition inspires her to lead her students toward music literacy, where they can connect more deeply with the music they are learning by "seeing what they hear and hearing what they see." She also loves to incorporate composition into lessons to unlock her students' creativity. It is her goal to ignite a love for music in each of her students and strives to do this by creating a joyful, positive learning environment, emphasizing the strengths of her students while keeping a growth mindset at the center of each lesson.
