Katherine Valadez is an active musician and flute instructor. Prior to relocating to the Phoenix area, Katie lived in Virginia, where she taught at multiple music studios, the Rappahannock Summer Music Camp, and was band assistant for the home school music program in Fredericksburg. She is a positive and encouraging teacher who works to expose her students to the greater classical world by keeping them informed of concerts and events as well as by organizing her own. In addition to maintaining a full teaching schedule while in Virginia, she performed regularly with the Rappahannock Pops and the Piedmont Symphony. Katherine won first place at the Flute Society of Washington’s Wallace Mann Orchestral Audition Competition in 2009. She holds a Master of Music Degree in Flute Performance from Arizona State University.
Katie is eager to show you how far private flute lessons will take you or your child and will help her students reach any musical goals they have, no matter how lofty!
