PMA Instructor: Dawn Kerlin

PMA Instructor: Dawn KerlinDawn Kerlin has been singing professionally for over 25 years. She earned a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Music from ASU in 1989 and began the teaching leg of her career at that time. In addition to being classically trained, Dawn has also studied privately with pop voice coaches, most notably Ron Anderson of American Idol fame.

Dawn’s teaching credits include:

  • Coaching Voice Privately (20+ years)
  • Teaching HS Choir and Music Theater
  • Teaching JH Choir and Music Theater
  • Teaching PreK and Kindergarten General Music

Dawn is more of a ‘voice coach’, teaching core technique that transfers to all styles. Her lessons typically include time spent training the voice, and then direct application of that training to songs of the student’s choosing. Dawn has also developed an approach to teaching aural perception, or “ear training”, that proves successful in adults and children alike.

Her singing career has taken her around the world with 13 USO World Tours as the featured entertainer in Dawn and The Connection. Those tours traveled to many regions and countries including Europe and the UK, The Mediterranean, Japan, South Kora, The Philippines, Bosnia and Hungary.
