Irma is a voice and piano instructor with past and ongoing experience in both performance and teaching. Her studies have taken her as far away as Manhattan, but she chose to complete her education at Florida International University where she studied under Dr. Kathleen Wilson. Irma has been teaching voice and piano for almost 15 years and has extensive training in various vocal styles such as Opera, Musical Theatre, Jazz, Pop, Rock, Latin, and Indie. As a performer, Irmas has had the opportunity to play various roles within Opera and Musical Theatre such as the Enchanting Ghost in the debut of the Chinese Ghost Opera, at The Tank Theatre in New York City, as well as Pauline in Toy Shop with Florida Grand Opera. In Musical Theatre she has played various roles such as The Witch in Into the Woods, Maria in West Side Story, Narrator (swing) in Murder Ballad, Rapunzel in Into the Woods, Frastrada in Pippin, Lucy in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, and Anita from West Side Story. Irma is excited to be a part of PMA's musical family and is always eager to accept new students and take on whatever challenges they might bring.
